American Reverse Glass

This page is dedicated to the American Craftsmen who were continuing & developing glass decoration techniques on the other side of the pond from the late 1800’s onwards.

I would also like to mention here about my friend Rick Glawson, who’s reputation for sharing turn of the century glass decoration techniques was an inspiration for this craft.

The attention Rick gave to technical detail into reverse glass and his energy that went into researching the historical background of many glass sign manufactures such as Rawson and Evans and other similar companies was second to none. Mark Oatis once wrote, Rick Glawson is no longer among us, and our universe shines less bright.

    Hey There Davey,

Found this comment in your source code…what’s it mean…could this be the secret to your gilding powers?

“Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I’m half crazy all for the love of you.
    It won’t be a stylish marriage, I can’t afford a carriage.
But you’ll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.”

Dave, Your work transcends the banal branding that we are continually laundered with! Keep the faith my man!
