I made this mirror for my wife to keep her happy. I was for ever promising a new mirror in our bathroom and so for her birthday made her an ornate mirror.
The scrolls are deep carved and water gilded using 23crt gold leaf. The circles are brilliant cut and gilded with 18crt gold leaf, the background was hand painted black and the the mirror was chemically silvered. It makes the bathroom seem so much bigger and really does catch the eye for opulence. The glass is 6ft by 5 ft and quarter inch thick.

I appreciate your innovative use of techniques in this piece. Inspiring! Fresh! A traditional feel full of contemporary flair.
From what I can see in one photo, it looks like you also did some sandblasting on the front of the glass. I wait with bated breath, as it were, to see if you might grace us with PIX of the whole mirror or at least parts of the rest of it.
